I've fitted several TEC Bike Parts to my daily ride, a Royal Enfield Meteor 350. Now I'm seriously tempted by their new Performance Camshaft. Here's why.
My Meteor has been my daily commuter for ages now, and it's had a few TEC upgrades that have genuinely improved the riding experience. Let me walk you through what I've done and why it's made a difference.
TEC Bar End Mirrors – Finally, Mirrors That Work
First thing I swapped out were those stock mirrors. Don't get me wrong, they're not terrible, but they're not great either. The TEC bar end mirrors are just so much better. They look cleaner, they don't vibrate like the stock ones , and once you set them, they stay put.
Installation was pretty straightforward – took me about 20 minutes with a cup of coffee in between. The build quality is solid, and they just feel right. Plus, the bike looks way tidier without those stock mirrors sticking out.

TEC Adjustable Levers – Your Hands Will Thank You
Next up were the TEC adjustable brake and clutch levers. Now, this might sound like a luxury upgrade, but when you're commuting every day in stop-start traffic, lever reach matters. These let you dial in exactly the right position for your hands.
The difference in comfort is noticeable, especially on longer rides. No more cramped fingers or having to stretch to reach the levers properly. They're well-made, look good, and just work better than stock.

TEC Clutch Arm Cover – The Little Things
The TEC clutch arm cover is one of those small touches that makes a bigger difference than you'd expect. It's not going to change how the bike rides, but it adds a nice finished look to the engine case. Sometimes it's the little details that matter.

TEC Tail Tidy – Clean Up That Rear End
The TEC tail tidy was probably the most noticeable visual change. The stock rear end setup always looked a bit... well, lets be honest, ugly. This thing cleans up the whole back of the bike while still keeping it legal with angle and the reflector.

The Temptation: TEC Performance Camshaft
Here's where I'm getting tempted. TEC has just released their Performance Camshaft for the Meteor 350 (and Classic 350 and Hunter 350), and I'm seriously considering it for my bike.
Now, I know what you're thinking – "Ross, it's only a 350, how much difference can it make?" Fair point, but hear me out.
I've already got a high-flow air filter and an aftermarket exhaust on the Meteor. The TEC camshaft promises 15-25% more power, and honestly, that sounds pretty appealing. Not because I need to go faster – most of my commuting is between 40-60 km/h anyway – but because a bit more torque would be nice, especially on that 10km stretch of freeway where I'm sitting at 100 km/h.

The Engine Can Handle It
The thing about the Meteor's J-series engine is that it's massively over-engineered. Royal Enfield built this thing to run forever, which means there's plenty of headroom for a bit more performance. It's not like we're trying to extract 200 horsepower from a stressed engine – we're just optimising what's already there.
FuelX Lite – The Perfect Partner
If I do go ahead with the TEC camshaft, I'll definitely be adding a FuelX Lite as well. The cam changes how the engine behaves, so you want the fuel mapping to match. The FuelX Lite is plug-and-play and automatically adapts to your modifications. Makes sense to do both together.
Why I Keep Coming Back to the Meteor
You know what's funny? Sometimes I think about selling the Meteor 350. I'll go a few weeks riding other bikes for reviews, and I'll look at it sitting in the garage and think, "Do I really need this?"
Then I take it for a ride, and within about five minutes, I remember why I love this bike. It's just so easy and enjoyable to ride. Light, comfortable, economical as anything, and it has character in spades. Perfect for commuting and cheap as chips to run.
The TEC upgrades haven't changed what makes the bike special – they've just made it a bit better at being itself.
Why TEC Gets It Right
What I like about TEC is that they're not trying to reinvent the wheel. They're just making better versions of the things that need improving. The quality is there, the engineering makes sense, and everything fits properly.
These aren't cheap knock-offs trying to cash in on the Royal Enfield boom. TEC understands that you want parts that work properly and last. Every component I've fitted feels like it should have been there from the factory.
The Bottom Line
We stock TEC at Biker Torque because I use TEC on my own bike. When we put our name behind something, it's because we've tested it ourselves first. The TEC bar end mirrors, adjustable levers, clutch arm covers, and tail tidy have all made real improvements to my daily ride.
And that TEC Performance Camshaft? Well, let's just say I'm very tempted. Combined with a FuelX Lite, it could be the perfect way to unlock a bit more potential from an already great little app engine.
