Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 x Rough Crafts — Six Units. One Drop. No Second Chances.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 x Rough Crafts — Six Units. One Drop. No Second Chances.

When we first got our hands on the Shotgun 650 in 2024 for review, we didn't expect it to like it as much as we did. Then when Royal Enfield decided it would be the donor bike for the 2026 Busted Knuckles Bike Build Off, to us it made perfect sense.

So when an email from Royal Enfield landed in our inbox this morning with this announcement, we had a read and thought let’s get this one out there, because there are only going to be 6 lucky riders in Australia who will own one of Royal Enfield’s latest factory custom.

The Drop

Royal Enfield has partnered with Rough Crafts, the celebrated Taiwanese custom house led by designer Winston Yeh to produce a striking factory-built special. The Shotgun 650 x Rough Crafts is a limited edition production motorcycle inspired directly by the Caliber Royale  the bespoke custom build that stopped the crowds at EICMA 2025 and again at Motoverse.

And now, it's real. It's numbered. And it's coming to Australia.

All six of them.

Six. That's It.

Globally, 25 units per market across India, Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America. Here in Australia? Six individually numbered motorcycles. That's not a misprint.

The live drop happens July 29, 2026 at 7:00 PM AEST a proper digital drop event and to be in the running, you need to register between now and July 29 at the Royal Enfield Australia website. Registration is open right now.

Miss the window, miss the bike. Simple as that.

What Makes This One Different

We've always had a soft spot for the Shotgun's bones. The cross-spoked tubeless wheels, the piano black finishes on the switch blocks and engine covers, the removable rear seat that turns it from a two-up tourer to a solo bobber in about 15 minutes it was already a bike you could genuinely live with.

But the Rough Crafts treatment takes it somewhere else entirely.

Gloss Jet Black and Matt Stealth Black two finishes working together, pulling in opposite directions, somehow looking completely unified. Then the gold. That Gold Leaf stripe with a subtle grey accent flowing across the panels, honestly, that's the detail that does it for us. It's restrained enough to feel intentional, bold enough to stop people on the street. Paired with gold inner fork tubes and contrast-cut alloy wheels, the whole bike has this dark, precise, collector's-piece energy that the standard range never quite reached.

Then there's the cast brass collaboration badge  the same design as the one on the original Caliber Royale custom. Quilted leather seat. Black bar-end mirrors. Limited-edition tank numbering.

And every owner gets a numbered, gold-on-black artwork print of the Caliber Royale sketch  designed and signed by Winston Yeh himself.

It is, without question, the most gloriously obsessive version of the Shotgun 650 that has ever existed.

The Price

$16,590 AUD ride-away.

For a numbered collector's piece with this level of finish, gold leaf, brass casting, signed artwork, premium upgrades across the board, that's not an unreasonable ask. Especially when there are only six of them in the country.

Our Take

We rode the Shotgun. We genuinely loved it. The handling, the engine character, the way it just encourages you to get on and go, Royal Enfield built something special with the 650 twin platform, and the Shotgun is arguably the best expression of it.

This Rough Crafts edition doesn't change any of that. It just wraps it in black and gold, signs it, numbers it, and tells you there are only five other people in Australia who'll ever own one.

If you've been sitting on the fence about the Shotgun, this is probably your sign.

Register before July 29 at royalenfield.com/au/en/motorcycles/shotgun-roughcrafts-edition. The drop is live at 7PM AEST, don't be late.
