New Ducatis for 2025: Innovation and Excitement Arrive
Share
The crisp Saturday morning air in Sydney buzzed with anticipation as Ducati's 2025 lineup was unveiled. Swapping the usual evening launch buzz for macchiatos and pastries, Ducati Sydney played host to a mouthwatering collection of new machines.
While every Ducatista present had their favourites – myself included, eyeing the sleek Multistrada V2 and potent Panigale V2 – it was the Streetfighter range that truly resonated. As someone with a few more grey hairs and riding years under the belt, the call of sports bike performance is still strong, but the idea of a permanent racing crouch? Let's just say my chiropractor is already on speed dial. That's the magic of the Streetfighter. But then, the covers came off the XDiavel V4. Fresh off the plane from Italy, this wasn't just another launch; it was a moment that made my pulse genuinely quicken – a stunning fusion of cruiser attitude and pure Ducati DNA.
Multistrada V2: A Sensible and Lighter Adventure Companion
The Multistrada V2 marks a significant shift for Ducati in the mid-range adventure segment. Completely redesigned, it now features a brand new 890cc L-twin engine producing 115 bhp. In a move that will likely please many owners, this new engine ditches the Desmo system, promising more manageable servicing. The new Multistrada V2 is also a remarkable 18kgs lighter than its predecessor, suggesting improved agility and handling.
Panigale V2: The Lightest Panigale Yet
Ducati has unleashed its lightest Panigale ever with the 2025 V2 model, tipping the scales at just 176 kgs. Powered by an 890cc L-twin engine delivering 120 bhp, this super-bike is packed with premium components. It features Öhlins suspension both at the front and rear, along with the Ducati quick-shifter 2.0. Riders can also choose from 4 rider modes and utilise Ducati power launch. The Panigale V2 boasts an aggressive aesthetic with a distinctive front end incorporating mini wings and a twin, underslung exhaust system.
Streetfighter V2: Naked Aggression with Added Comfort
Sharing its chassis and engine with the Panigale V2, the Streetfighter V2 brings the same thrilling performance to the naked bike category. New additions enhance its practicality, including cruise control and a USB port. The "S" version of the Streetfighter V2 also gains power launch, and the entire range benefits from a new TFT display.
Streetfighter V4: Unleashing Extreme Power with Intelligent Electronics
For those craving ultimate performance, the Streetfighter V4 delivers a staggering 214 bhp from its 189 kg package. Utilising the same chassis and swing arm as the Panigale V4, this hyper-naked machine is equipped with top-of-the-line Brembo brakes. A standout feature is the innovative DVO (Ducati Vehicle Observer) – an intelligent algorithm that learns and adapts to the rider's style, working in conjunction with the electronic combined braking system. The Streetfighter V4 also features a new TFT display and the quick shifter 2.0.
XDiavel V4: A Bold and Powerful Cruiser
Despite early images potentially misleading on the colour, the new XDiavel V4 arrives in a striking burgundy finish. This bold and imposing power cruiser is unmistakably Ducati. It's powered by the Grandturismo engine featuring rear cylinder deactivation and is lighter than the previous generation. With 168 BHP and 126Nm of torque, along with longer service intervals, the XDiavel V4 represents the next evolution of Ducati's cruiser offering.
Ducati has presented a strong lineup of updates for 2025, catering to a wide range of riding styles and preferences. While these are exciting developments, the anticipation is already building for what the manufacturer might unveil for their upcoming 100-year anniversary in 2026.
