The new Streetfighter V4 packs 214 horsepower and weighs just 189kg in S trim – I already know this bike will be infinitely more capable than my riding skills, but hey, we can all dream of being MotoGP heroes, right?
Ducati has just unleashed the latest evolution of their naked superbike formula with the new Streetfighter V4, and frankly, I'm equal parts excited and terrified. With 214 horsepower from the latest Desmosedici Stradale engine and a power-to-weight ratio of 1.13, this Italian missile is coming to Biker Torque for review over the coming months and I already know it's going to be way more capable than I am talented.
The updates are significant: new ergonomics with the bars 10mm closer, a redesigned tank and seat for better connection, plus that gorgeous new design language with iconic DRL and biplane wings. The S model gets the full Öhlins Smart EC 3.0 treatment with electronic suspension adjustment, forged wheels, and a lithium battery.
Starting from $38,400 for the base model and $43,100 for the S, it's serious money for a seriously capable machine. The new Ducati Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm and reduced lateral frame stiffness promise even better track performance which means I'll have even more excuses when I'm inevitably shown up by the bike's capabilities.

We'll be putting this Italian thoroughbred through its paces across Australian roads and tracks, so stay tuned for the full review. Just don't expect any lap records the bike's capable of them, but the rider definitely isn't.
