Big News: TEC Performance Camshaft Coming to Biker Torque

The Performance Upgrade Royal Enfield 350 Owners Have Been Waiting For

So one question I get asked constantly is: "What performance upgrades would you make to a Royal Enfield 350 with the J series engine?" Until recently, my honest answer was "not much." Sure, you could do intake and exhaust mods, maybe add a fuelling device, but the real limitation was always the camshaft. Well, that's just changed. TEC has released their Performance Camshaft kit, and we're about to start stocking it.

Why This Changes Everything

If you've been riding any of the 350cc J Series Royal Enfield's, you know the story. They're brilliant little bikes, reliable, characterful, and great for Australian conditions. But let's be honest, they could use a bit more grunt. That's where TEC's Stage 2 camshaft comes in.

My Take

I've been running my Meteor 350 as a daily for 4  years now. It's got quite a few TEC parts already, but a  performance camshaft has been on my wish-list since day one. The fact that we can now offer it to our customers? That's huge.

The numbers speak for themselves. 15-25% power increase depending on your setup. On a completely stock bike, you're looking at around 15% more power. But if you've already done the intake, exhaust, and fuelling mods, you could see up to 25% gains.

What This Means for Real Riding

More power isn't just about bragging rights. It's about being able to fit a larger front sprocket for more relaxed highway cruising. It's about having the grunt to overtake when you need to. It's about making these brilliant little engines work the way they should have from the factory.

Look, these bikes aren't and were never meant to be the fastest thing on the road, they're about character and charm. But that doesn't mean they can't benefit from a bit more usable power where it counts.

The Technical Stuff

This isn't some backyard modification. TEC's camshaft is precision ground hardened billet steel, proper engineering that comes with a 24-month warranty. It fits all 350cc J Series models from 2021 onwards, and installation is straightforward with basic tools (though you'll need a torque wrench that reads 10nM or less).

Coming Soon

We're finalising the details now, but expect to see the TEC Performance Camshaft available in our store very soon. We'll also be stocking the specialist installation tools,  the Cam Locking Pin and Cam Timing Tool, because proper jobs need proper tools.

Why I'm Excited

This isn't just another product for us to sell. I'm planning to install one on my own Meteor 350, and when I'm willing to modify my own daily ride, that tells you everything you need to know about my confidence in the product.

The Royal Enfield 350 platform is brilliant, but it's always felt like it was holding back a bit. The TEC performance cam unleashes that potential without compromising reliability or character. It's the modification these bikes have been waiting for.

Stay tuned for availability - this is going to be good.
